Summer is just around the corner!  We love the freshly picked fruits and vegetables that are abundant in-store & at local Farmer's Markets this time of year.  Wouldn't you agree that nothing tastes better on a sizzling summer afternoon than a cold, refreshing drink?  Infused with the flavors of sweet strawberries & basil, this strawberry-basil lemonade is the perfect drink to cool off & quench your thirst on a hot summer day!

Strawberry Basil Lemonade

Ingredients: (4 servings)

10 lemons, juiced, about 1 cup

¾ cup super fine sugar

4 cups water

8 – 10 strawberries, tops removed

1/3 cup fresh basil

1. Juice the lemons and transfer the juice into a large pitcher.

2. Add the sugar and the water and stir to combine and dissolve the sugar.

3. Add the strawberries and basil.

4. Using an immersion blender, blend the mixture for about 20 seconds just until the mixture turns pink and the basil is finely chopped.

Serving Suggestions:

Use sparkling water or Lemon-Lime soda instead of tap water.Garnish with lemon or orange wedges/slices.Make a simple syrup by warming equal parts sugar & water over low-heat until sugar dissolves instead of adding super fine sugar directly to the mixture. After blending, strain out remaining large pieces of strawberries or basil for ease in sipping through a straw.
