Chicken Alfredo (Mike Herr, Owner Flour Power Holly Springs)

Happy Fall everyone! As a child I was a very picky and stubborn eater; my diet consisted mostly of noodles with parmesan cheese and green beans as a side. I did not care to try too many different foods, especially any meat! My palate expanded as I got older, albeit slowly. It wasn’t until when I went to college that I started to fully be open to try new foods. My roommates and I started a tradition that we called “Italian Tuesdays”. Every Tuesday, we would all make an Italian meal together. We made dishes like Chicken Alfredo & Lasagna.

We did this over the course of a few years and eventually branched out to other types of foods such as Chicken Stir-Fry.

Making these dishes allowed me to try and experience different types of foods that I would have never tried as a child. One of the things that I love about being an owner and working at Flour Power is when a child tries a food that they have never tried before (or were too scared to try) and end up loving it! It brings me great joy to see kids be willing to try new foods. I will finish this post by providing my favorite meal that we make at our studios: Chicken Alfredo!

Chicken Alfredo


  • Chicken

  • ½ cup butter

  • 1 pint heavy whipping cream

  • 4oz cream cheese

  • ½ tsp minced garlic

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp pepper

  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese

  • Pasta


1. Cut up and cook chicken in skillet with desired seasonings.

2. In a medium saucepan add butter, heavy whipping cream and cream cheese. Cook over medium heat and whisk until melted. Add the minced garlic, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Continue to whisk until smooth. Add the grated parmesan cheese.

3. Bring to a simmer and continue to cook for about 3-5 minutes or until it starts to thicken. Toss it with chicken and your favorite pasta!
